One license. One owner. One point of contact across every project phase.
My name is Itamar Ben Asulin. I started IBA Builders in 2015 with a specific goal in mind. LA homeowners were managing too many moving parts on their own — design conversations with one firm, permit questions with another, construction managed by a third. By the time a problem surfaced, no one was clearly responsible for solving it.
I built IBA around a different model. One licensed contractor manages design coordination, permit submission, subcontractor scheduling, and city inspections — under one contract and one CSLB license. That’s how every project I take on is structured. For homeowners who want to understand what to check before hiring a contractor in LA, we’ve put together a full guide on licensure and accountability.
We’re based in Sherman Oaks because it puts us within reach of job sites across the Valley, the Westside, and the Eastside. Since 2020, IBA Builders has completed ADU projects, whole-home remodels, room additions, and new construction across multiple Los Angeles neighborhoods. I am still the named owner and the point of contact on every project we take on.
Every project is permitted through the appropriate LA jurisdiction and managed under one CSLB-licensed contract. Click any service to learn more about how we approach it.

A CSLB license is California’s legal authorization for a contractor to perform construction work. Here is how to confirm ours yourself — this takes under a minute, and we encourage every homeowner to do it before signing with any contractor, including us.
The CSLB — California Contractors State License Board — is the state agency that licenses, bonds, and regulates contractors in California. A valid CSLB license confirms three things: the contractor is legally authorized to work, they carry the required bond, and they hold qualifying insurance.
IBA Builders holds CSLB License #1074505. It is active. Verify CSLB License #1074505 at cslb.ca.gov directly — the status, bond, and disciplinary history are public record.
California law requires a CSLB license for any construction project valued over $500. For more on what to verify before hiring a general contractor, see our full guide on licensure and accountability.
Verifying your contractor upfront protects your project from the start. The questions worth asking before signing are practical and answerable in public record — here are the ones we recommend.

Ten employees and crew members. Large enough to staff multiple projects simultaneously, small enough that Itamar stays involved on every one. The crew handles framing, concrete, finish work, and interior renovation across ADU builds, room and home additions in LA, and full remodels. Specialty trades — electrical, plumbing, HVAC — are licensed and coordinated under IBA’s project management. Itamar manages permit submission through the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety directly, including the permit submission and city inspection process in LA. Nothing is passed off to an unmanaged chain of subs.
From the Sherman Oaks office on Ventura Blvd, we reach project sites across the San Fernando Valley, Westside, Eastside, South Bay, and unincorporated county areas. All permitted work submitted through LADBS or the appropriate local jurisdiction.
A physical office in the heart of the Valley — not a virtual address. Walk-ins welcome by appointment.
Call IBA Builders directly, send an email, or fill out the contact form. We answer the questions we’d want answered if it were our project — before any money is spent on plans. Or review common questions about working with IBA Builders first.
